Marissa Gomez Schursky, MS, MFT
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
Marissa has worked with clients in various life stages and from diverse cultural backgrounds. She has worked with couples in the Intimate Relationships Lab headed by Dr. Arthur Aron and in private practice. Marissa provides couples with tools and insights to achieve their goals, while managing the difficult issues that arise. She assists her couples in developing deeper communication and emotional connection. Marissa is passionate about working with premarital and non-traditional couples.
Marissa is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and received her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Iona College. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Stony Brook University.
Marissa views couples and families as part of an interconnected system best understood by their interactions. She collaborates with clients to explore their relationships with regard to themselves, as well as others. Marissa’s theoretical approach is integrative, to meet the needs of individuals, couples, and families. She works with each client to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
