Melissa is passionate about working with couples, families, and individuals from all backgrounds, and specializes in working with clients with LGBTQ+ identities.
Melissa is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Nassau Wellness. She completed her Master's degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Connecticut. She received Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Melissa is a professional member of American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She works with individuals, couples, and families.
Melissa is enthusiastic about helping her clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves, others, and the world around them. She is determined in her work to create a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions, while helping them build the skills to make the changes they strive to make.
Melissa has worked with couples in various life stages, adults and college students struggling with anxiety, and families. She has experience working in a children's outpatient program, where she met with clients ages 3-18 and their families. Melissa has facilitated groups focused on developing social skills for young children, as well as an LGBTQ+ adolescent group to promote identity formation, education, and healthy coping strategies.
