Part-Time Licensed Sex Therapist

PART-TIME: At least 18 client sessions per week

Nassau Wellness is a thriving group practice established in 2014 with 9 therapists specializing in working with couples. We're located in Garden City, NY. Our practice places the highest priority on client service - ensuring all clients are receiving top of the line care through ongoing clinical supervision, case consultation, and training. Our therapists practice evidence-based therapy models, including Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The Part Time Licensed Sex Therapist position is a great opportunity to work with other experienced clinicians in a supportive, education-focused environment. You'll have the opportunity to participate in weekly group and individual supervision with our Clinical Director, Marina Voron, PhD, LMFT, CST-S, who is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Sex Therapist, and AASECT Approved Supervisor with a PhD in Clinical Sexology. You'll also participate in our team's biweekly clinical trainings, where we take courses together and review the material and its application.

This position is in office or remote (on a case-by-case basis) and requires a minimum of 18 client sessions per week. Availability for sessions must be at least two weekday evenings (no less than 6 hours, ending no earlier than 9pm) and one weekend day (no less than 4 hours). Administrative work and participation in supervision and training may be done remotely.

The right candidate will be a clear communicator, be able to complete tasks in a timely manner, and apply clinical skills effectively with a diverse population of clients.

The Part Time Licensed Therapist will:

  • Provide model-specific individual, couples, sex, and family therapy

  • Develop treatment plans and progress notes

  • Participate in consultation calls and other communications with potential clients

  • Coordinate with other mental health providers to assist with client cases

  • Complete prerequisite readings and trainings and meet with Clinical Director to review as requested

SCHEDULE:

  • At least two weekday evenings (no less than 6 hours, ending no earlier than 9pm)

  • At least one weekend day (no less than 4 hours)

  • Group supervision Thursdays 2-3pm

  • Clinical training every other Thursday 1-2pm

  • Individual case consultation as scheduled with Clinical Director

EDUCATION:

  • Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy strongly preferred (equivalent Master’s degree with extensive systemic training considered)

  • NYS License in Marriage and Family Therapy (or equivalent) required

  • AASECT Sex Therapy Certification or in process of (all education requirements complete - working on supervision hours)

  • Experience with Gottman Method Couples Therapy and/or Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy strongly preferred

  • Experience working with couples required 

SALARY:

  • $100-200/client session

  • $15/hour for administrative tasks, supervision, and training
