Mimi Beskydova, MA, MFT

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Mimi believes therapy can be a place where clients feel truly understood while gaining the insight and tools needed to create meaningful change. With warmth, curiosity, and compassion, she provides a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore difficult experiences, better understand themselves, and work toward healthier, more fulfilling lives. Mimi's goal is to help clients feel more connected to themselves and others while building lives and relationships that feel authentic, purposeful, and fulfilling.

Mimi approaches therapy from a systemic perspective, helping clients recognize how relationships, family dynamics, cultural influences, past experiences, and present circumstances may shape the way they think, feel, and connect with others. Her style is collaborative and practical. Rather than focusing only on problems, she helps clients identify their strengths, clarify what matters most to them, and understand patterns that may no longer be serving them.

Originally from Slovakia and now based on Long Island, Mimi brings a thoughtful appreciation for the ways culture, identity, family expectations, and life experiences can influence emotional well-being and relationships. She has worked with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents in a community clinic setting since 2024. Additionally, Mimi facilitated group therapy, as well as a weekly Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills group with families. She has experience working with communication issues, relationship challenges, personal growth, life transitions, unmet emotional needs, emotional dysregulation, trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress management. Together, Mimi and her clients work to strengthen self-awareness, navigate challenges with greater confidence, and develop practical strategies for lasting change.

Mimi is a Limited Permit Marriage and Family Therapist. She received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hofstra University. Mimi completed her Bachelor's degree in Economics in 2020 from Hunter College.
