Sarah Alden
Marriage and Family Therapy Intern
Sarah is a curious, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapist-in-training. She believes that meaningful change begins with feeling understood. Sarah strives to create a space where clients feel comfortable showing up as they are. Her approach is grounded in the perspective that our relationships and life experiences shape the way we see ourselves and connect with others. Drawing from Gottman Method principles, Sarah values helping clients strengthen communication, deepen emotional connection, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. She is passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges, strengthen relationships, and create lasting, meaningful change.
Originally from Philadelphia and now based in Manhattan, Sarah brings a deep appreciation for community, reflection, and the connection between spirituality and human relationships. She has experience with children, teens, and families working as an educator in a private school for seven years. In that time, she developed a deep appreciation for the power of connection, empathy, and meeting people where they are at. Sarah supports individuals, couples, families, and teens working through anxiety, relational conflict, school-related challenges, life transitions, intergenerational challenges, and communication issues.
Sarah earned her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania in 2020 and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Iona University. She completed her Bachelor's degree at The George Washington University in 2018.
